Buta God, Ramen Champion @ Changi Airport Terminal 3

I am rather lucky with instagram contest recently.  Just before the Chinese New Year, hubby and I went to our favourite nearest ramen joint - Ramen Champion at Changi Airport Terminal 3.  As usual, we would take a photo of our delicious-looking bowl of ramen and post it on instagram.  I hashtag my photo of the ramen I ordered from Tonkatsu Ikkyu with #ramenchampioncny as there is a contest from Ramen Champion.  Winners of the contest would receive CNY ang pows!  I was happy to be one of the three winners for this contest!  The ang pows were mailed to me and the amount of the vouchers also came as a surprise for me (4 x $20 Ramen Champion vouchers).
Both of us ordered the God Ramen from Buta God!  To maximize the 2 x $20 vouchers, we ordered another side dish.
More and more restaurants using this technology and I can even find this in my neighbourhood foodcourt in one of the western food stalls.
 Our orders...
The side dish was very disappointing.  The dish looked completely different from the display photo.  The tamago was so thinly sliced and this cost $6.80.  Super not worth the money in my opinion.
Our God Ramen!  Haha... It was a rather generous bowl of ramen with pork belly slices and a poached egg.  Broth was thick and rich.  This ramen didn't disappoint.
For this meal, we used 2 vouchers and topped up only $1.50.  We still have 2 more vouchers and we will visit Ramen Champion again next month!

Thank you @ramenchampion_sg for the CNY ang pows!  See you soon! :):):)

Tonkotsu Ikkyu (Ramen Champion) @ Changi Airport Terminal 3

For the past three years, whenever hubby and I had craving for ramen, Ikkousha (Ramen Champion) at Changi Airport T3 would be our top choice.  Two weeks ago on a Friday evening, after a tiring day from work, we went back to Ramen Champion.  However, to our disappointment, Ikkousha had ceased its operation at Changi Airport!  Sob, Sob... Thus, we ordered our ramen from the new stall "Tonkatsu Ikkyu" which had taken over Ikkousha's original stall premise.

The pork bone broth, probably boiled for many hours, was very thick and creamy, just like Ikkousha's.  Presentation-wise was also very similar to that of Ikkousha, with the noodles topped with black fungus, spring onions and the thin slices of meat spreading evenly and nicely around the bowl, like petals from a flower.  The sliced meat was slightly tougher than Ikkousha's almost melt-in-the-mouth lean sliced pork.

Hubby and I both ordered the Special Tonkotsu Ramen (S$15.80).

Father's Day Dinner at Saboten @ Changi Airport Terminal 1

Hubby and I went for a 11 days trip to Hokkaido/ Tokyo during last June holidays.  Our date of departure was Sunday, 15 Jun and it coincide with Father's Day.  Dad came to fetch us to the airport and I treated the family to a dinner at Saboten before catching the flight to Haneda Airport for our trip to Hokkaido!  Yes!  More Japanese food!!!  =)

Saboten is one of my favourite tonkatsu restaurant.

Free flow of shredded cabbages, which went very well with the sesame dressing.
Loin Katsu (Large)
I ordered Salmon Katsu instead of Loin Katsu as the staff told us that the loin katsu was only available in "large".  I was afraid that I couldn't finish the "large" portion of loin katsu and thus, I decided to go for a change.
We were served a scoop of green-tea (matcha) ice-cream to end the meal.

Azur @ Crowne Plaza Hotel

A birthday celebration for a colleague over lunch buffet at Azur, located at level 2 of Crowne Plaza Hotel which is linked to Changi Airport Terminal 3.  Somehow, most of the food didn't really interest me and I didn't really eat much for this buffet, only took four plates of food.

Oysters were fresh.
Took another fried glutinous red bean ball.
The brunch starts from 12.30pm and each pax for the buffet cost $45++ during weekends.

Astons Specialities @ Changi Airport T3

We made a trip to Ramen Champion at Changi Airport Terminal 3 on New Year Eve at around 9pm as hubby was craving for the ramen from Ikkousha.  However, the staff told us that we could only order from Riki Ramen as the other 3 stalls had run out of their stock.  Disappointed, we took the skytrain to Terminal 1 to have our dinner at Astons Specialities.

At Terminal 3 - Kids having fun!
Nice X'mas Decor with the prominent landmark of Changi Airport - the control tower.
I ordered ribeye with pasta and onion rings.

Hubby's New York Strip with baked potato and coslaw.

In short, you can get good steak at a very affordable price here.  I would love to revisit it again, maybe to try the infamous ieatSuperBurger.

Snowman at Terminal 1
After this very late dinner, we met up with a friend at the airport before going back home for count down!!!

Ramen Champion @ Changi Airport T3

Hubby and I spent our Christmas Eve at Changi Airport, avoiding the crowd in city area.
We settled at the newly opened Ramen Champion.
I had tried Ikkousha at Illuma before and decided to try a different stall this time.
 Gantetsu Miso Ramen
I had not tried this type of ramen before, with corns and butter.  I didn't quite like it and didn't manage to finish off the soup.  I find the favour too strong for me.
Hubby ordred the Ikkousha Ramen and he liked it very much.
Althogether, there are 4 ramen stalls here.
Between the 2 types of ramen, we both prefer the ramen from Ikkousha.

Earle Swenson's @ Changi Airport T3

Treated hubby to Earle Swenson's at Changi Airport Terminal 3 tonight as I had bought 2 Groupon vouchers.  For $20 a voucher, I can buy $40 worth of food from any of the Swenson outlet, including Earle Swenson's (ie a discount of 50%).  I am aware that Earle Swenson's price is much higher than the other family Swenson outlets, so I decided to buy 2 vouchers instead ie I paid $40 for $80 worth of food.

We both enjoyed the varieties that the salad bar offers.  Both our mains comes with salad bar buffet.

My plate of salad, nice varieties right?
Hubby's plate of salad
Baked Cheese Mussels
Found an unexpected guest in the mussel
Hubby ordered poultry combo
I ordered tenderloin steak (Medium Well) with butter herb sauce
Banana Split
Total bill was $85.60 and hubby topped up $5.60.  Did I say it was my treat earlier?  :P
