Miss Tam Chiak Blog Party @ Cafe Brio, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel

My foodie friend, Pauline won a pair of passes to Miss Tam Chiak Blog Party at Cafe Brio, Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel earlier this month.  She brought me along to the party and it was nice to meet Miss Tam Chiak in person and we even shared the same table.

The high-tea session comprises of many local delights such as Nonya Laksa, Bak Kut Teh, Rojak, Nonya Kueh as some International fares such as Japanese Sushi and Western desserts.  There is also an outdoor BBQ station.

The colourful spread of sushi that they have.  They don't have my favourite salmon sushi though.
I had a handroll too.  We can choose the ingredients that we want at this live station.  The chef was very humourous.  He said if we wanted everything in one handroll, he could do it for us too!  Haha...

Miss Tam Chiak's friend, Derrick (www.sgonfoot.com) was very nice to prepare rojak for every table.  Thank you so much!  :)
 Laksa Live Station
I enjoyed my bowl of nonya laksa with cockles which was delicious with the rich and flavourful gravy.

I had a plate of Nasi Lemak too.

Outdoor Barbecue Station (Charcoal-Fired Grill)
We don't normally see barbecue station in other typical high-tea buffet but be warned, this area was really like a burning furnace, very very hot here!  Need to "suffer" a bit for your BBQ chicken wings, sausages, sweet corns and satay!
 Beef, Chicken and Mutton Satay.
I ended off the session with a piece of sweet strawberry flan and for Pauline, she had ice-cream!

A nice group photo with Miss Tam Chiak (Maureen)!  Being the host of the event, she was seldom at her seat as she was busy going around to interact with her guests.  Hope to have a chance to meet up with her again.
Congratulations to Maureen and also thanks Pauline for bringing me along to this party!

I am happy to receive an invitation to Singapore's first iconic Yoga and Fitness Festival - SOULSCAPE that will be held on 25 October 2014 (Saturday) from (4pm till late) at Sentosa's Tanjong Beach Club.

Created by health and wellness digital magazine and platform -intheLoop, this one-of-a-kind evening of discovery will offer Yoga, movement workshops, a lifestyle and wellness market, world music and a dance party.

The highlights of the event include a sunset flow and starry night yoga rave session to live beats, an after party with renowned DJs, a holistic lifestyle marketplace, and fringe activities from slacklining to calisthenics. Participants will be decked in luminous body paint and strapped with glowsticks.

This night-time Yoga and Music event will offer up a distinctive local flavor, from organic foods and pressed juices to a local lineup of yoga and music talents. Fitness specialists, dietitians, and wellness practitioners will also be among the local vendors present to share and inspire participants to live healthily and mindfully. It is going to be a unique blend of health and fitness activities which incorporate different forms of Yoga and functional movement.

SOULSCAPE caters to the young and old. Seniors can join in the sunset yoga for a slower paced flow and kids can be kept occupied at their corner with yoga, sandcastle building and arts & crafts.

I will be going for this event with a friend.  Both of us are quite new to Yoga but I think we will get to learn more about Yoga and health through this event.  Moreover, it will be great fun to do yoga together under the stars at Tanjong Beach with many other like-minded people of all ages, coupled with dance and music.

Tickets cost S$25 for walk-about passes and access to event grounds, and S$75 for Full Yoga passes, which cover access to all yoga sessions, fringe activities (subject to availability), a free non-alcoholic drink and goodie bag worth S$100. Ticketholders also enjoy free entry into Sentosa. The first 100 to arrive will receive premium sports water bottles worth $25 each.
