Beach Culture @ Watercross, Pasir Ris Park Carpark E

 A little farewell treat for a colleague at Beach Culture at Pasir Ris Park.

Ambience here was good and there are both indoor (air-conditioned) and outdoor seating.  We decided to choose the outdoor area for dining, facing the beach.

I ordered the lychee soda.  They will not provide ice-water but the funny thing is, when I asked for warm water, they were okay.  My friend then jokingly said that since they served warm water, just gave us some ice and we will put the ice into our warm water ourselves.  In the end, they did give us a can full of ice and didn't charge us.  ??? *Puzzled*

 Nacho with cheese and bolognese was nice and addictive.

 Since there were 4 of us, we ordered 2 sets of the grilled meat platter.  The lamb was very salty and we feedback to the staff when she came over to our table to ask us how was the food.  I didn't eat the chicken as I was quite full after eating the lamb, steak and sausage.  Thus, my friend who was sharing the platter with me could take my share.  However, she said the chicken was not really nice too.

 This was supposed to be mango sago pudding  The photo in the menu showed the top of the pudding covered with a thick layer of sago but I didn't find it here.  Thus, I asked the staff about the sago and also,we suspected the few sago that we "found" in this dessert was not cooked properly.  She then took it back to the kitchen to check with the chef but came back telling us that this dessert had all been prepared already and asked us whether we wanted to change to another dessert instead.  Thus, I changed to buttermilk waffle with ice-cream. 

I found the waffles too soggy this time round.  My friends also ordered a brownie with ice-cream for sharing.

Although the food here was just average, but I liked this type of restaurant with a nice outdoor ambience.  The staff were also friendly.  Will be here probably with my hubby next time!  Maybe to try out their chocolate fondue!  :)

Peach Garden 桃苑 @ White Sands

This relatively new Cantonese restaurant at White Sands had taken over the former premises of "Lerk Thai" - one of my favourite Thai restaurants.  :(  I came here with hubby for lunch today after he fetched me from work.  This was my second visit here.  My first visit here was with 6 other colleagues,  we actually ordered all the dim sums on the menu!  

 The portion of the meatballs porridge was big and we shared this between both of us.

 Whooo.... our favourite custard buns.  Nice!  Hubby loved them so much that he took 2.

Friday lunch with colleagues 2 weeks ago before the school holiday.  Original plan was to go Manhatten Fish Market as colleague had some discount vouchers.  However, when we reached there, the queue was very long.  As my colleagues need to rush back school for meeting, we didn't queue for Manhatten but we changed our venue to Mad Jack instead.

 I ordered the "Crazy Set" - Mad Cow Burger & Chips Set Lunch which is available from 11.30am to 5.30pm.  The set consists of Soup of the Day and a glass of Pepsi. ($9.90 without service charge)

A Reward Treat for my student

I had made a promise to my class last year, whoever got an A1 for my subject would be given a treat.  I treated my top student to Manhatten Fish Market for lunch.

Both of us topped up our meal with a soup and drink at $8.50 each.

 We ordered the same type of drink - Tropical Breeze.

 Student got a $5 discount voucher when she went to NYP open house.

 I ordered Crab Bisque and student ordered cream of mushroom.

Love everything on the plate except the carrots as they were super hard.  Haha....

Pepper Lunch @ White Sands

I am really glad that Pepper Lunch opens another outlet at White Sands!  We got one more option for dining when we are at White Sands which we frequent regularly.
Hubby ordered Rib-Eye Steak ($16.90) and he topped up $2 for a drink and ice-cream.

I ordered Curry Rice with Seafood.  ($14.90)

I poured all the curry into the rice and stirred everything, including the scallops and prawns together.

A Weekday Dinner at Magic Wok

Hubby fetched me from work and we went to Downtown East for our dinner.  Decided to settle at Magic Wok as Thai food is always very appetizing.  Hubby ordered stir-fried kuay teow and the dish was sweet.  They were very generous with the eggs too.

I ordered vermicelli, lesser eggs though.  But it was still good :)

The Manhatten Fish Market @ White Sands

Our ARO, Janice gave the team a treat after the presidential election.  She made reservation at The Manhatten Fish Market.  There were 14 of us and we ordered 7 sets of "Platter for 2" to share.

Old Town White Coffee @ White Sands

Lunch with colleague SL at Old Town White Coffee at White Sands Shopping Mall. We wanted to try out Pepper Lunch but the queue was too long, probably some weekday lunch promotion.

I ordered the Hainanese Chicken Chop Rice. Haha.. compared to my family's authentic Hainanese Chicken Chop, this one pales in comparison. :P

Silvery Moon @ Pasir Ris Park

Although we have been staying in Pasir Ris for almost 5 years, this was the first time we came to Silvery Moon at Pasir Ris Park for dinner.  I had chanced upon this place from reading a blog post.

Most diners, mainly families with kids, would opt to sit inside the air-con restaurant whereas the smokers outside....

Hubby ordered Krombacher Weizen (Wheat Beer) which tasted sweet and refreshing.  ($11.50)

My Cranberry Juice (Top up $2.50 with main course)

Mushroom Soup

Hubby's Garlic Prawns and Steak.  The steak was quite tough and difficult to cut. 

I was quite satisfied with my huge portion of Breaded Chicken Schnitzels.

Think we will be back during Octoberfest for sausage and beer.

Tasty Taiwan @ White Sands

This was the first time I had braised large intestine mee sua in Singapore.  It is rather common in Taiwan but here, we can find mostly oyster mee sua.  This bowl of mee sua was really tasty but their business is rather bad.  Probably because of the slightly steeper price tag as compared to those from the take-away kiosk.
