Melbourne F&E - Day 6 (Last Day)

Last day of our Melbourne Trip:  My ex-student, Sze Ying came to our hotel at 10am and brought us out for brunch at Lygon Street near her university.  We had our brunch at an Italian Restaurant.  Service was very slow.  Our food was served almost only half an hour later although the restaurant was not really very crowded.  Not too sure whether it is Aussie's culture?  I remember the night before, we also waited very long for our dishes to be served to us

I ordered the seafood risotto as I had never tried risotto before.  It had many dried oysters in it and it was quite a tasty dish.
Sze Ying's Breakfast
We had a good catching up over brunch and after that, we proceeded to an ice cream parlour to have ice-cream!!  Yup.. ice-cream in a cold weather...
The presentation of the different flavoured ice-cream was rather interesting.  There was a durian husk for durian ice-cream and also, did you see a small tea cup for green tea ice-cream?

Sze Ying brought us to the University Of Melbourne for a walk.
The school canteen..

Us at the clock tower
"Moo-Moo" building.... Haha...
We reached the hotel at 2.30pm and saw the other group members all bought some Churros.  We also bought 2 to try. Not cheap... 1 churro cost AUD 4.95!!

Spotted this interesting pub "Witches and Bitches" on the coach.
We reached the airport very early and there was still sufficient time for us to do some last minute shopping.  We bought lots of Tim Tam!!  All different flavours! =)

Melbourne F&E - Day 5

On our F&E day, we took the FREE City Circle Train to Queen Victoria Market.
There was a super long queue at this doughnuts van.
UGG boots can be found here too.  However, not too sure whether they are authentic.
This is like our "Sticky Candy" in Singapore.
We came to this shop just next to the market and bought many soap bars (come in different fragrance) to give to our family and friends as souvenir.  The staff helped us to wrap every soap bar individually too.  You can buy the soap bars at the market itself at a cheaper price but they will not help you to wrap.
Francis at Queen Victoria Market
We had our lunch here at this Vietnamese restaurant.  Many HK celebrities photos were pasted on the walls of the restaurant.  This seemed like a very popular restaurant and was very crowded with the tables placed very closely to one another.

After lunch, we went back to our hotel to put our stuff before going out again.
We went to South Wharf for some shopping in the afternoon.
Coffee break at "Villa & Hut"

Passed by Crown Hotel.

Dinner at this Italian restaurant.

The pizza was huge but we could finish it!!  Haha...

BBQ on a Rainy X'mas Day

This was my 3rd BBQ of the month.  We had a semi-BBQ at my parents' place to celebrate Christmas.  It was like a potluck style.  In the afternoon, Francis and I went to Cheers at Downtown East to buy the BBQ items like charcoal, wire mesh etc.  We were also in charge of buying the satays and we bought the satays at the Otak specialty shop opposite Cheers.
Fire started quite easily.  Thanks to....
the Man Behind the Scene =)

Granny's home-cooked beehoon and she cooked curry chicken to go with the beehoon too!

My 2 cousins having fun in the water...
Towards the evening, there was a bit of drizzle.  Shortly after, there was a downpour!!  Our BBQ pit was not sheltered and even the so-called "Shelter" above the tables and chairs was not covered.  We got to seek refuge at these shelters next to the pool!

This year, I had also prepared X'mas gifts to all my cousins.  Hope they like the little gifts from us!
