Photographer Ernest Goh’s murals are presented as part of the 2014 Tiong Bahru Heritage Fiesta by Tanjong Pagar-Tiong Bahru Community Arts and Culture Committee, with the support of the Seng Poh Residents Committee. As it is a public holiday today - Labour Day, we decided to check it out and also, to have our lunch at the Tiong Bahru Market and Food Centre.
We spotted 3 giant murals of the cocks.
Altogether, there are 5 animal murals. The other 2 are goldfish and guppies which we didn't attempt to find today. If you are interested to hunt them all down during your next visit to Tiong Bahru, do check out Cheekiemonkies' blog as he has diligently marked out the locations of the 5 murals on a map.
We had lunch at Tiong Bahru Market and Food Centre and it was our first time trying out the famous wanton mee from "Zhong Yu Yuan Wei Wanton Noodle" (忠于原味云吞面). They were not stingy with the Char Siew, all the roasted pork were thickly cut and well -caramelized. Their premium roasted pork "不见天叉烧" aka pig's armpit, were sold out but the normal ones were already good enough. By the way, hubby queued almost for half an hour for the wanton mee!
Hubby's plate of wanton mee ($4).
