Chabuton - The KUROBUTA @ Tampines One

This was my second visit to Chabuton with hubby.  I didn't try "The Kurobuta" during my previous visit and was happy to win a voucher for a free bowl of "The Kurobuta" from @VIVIENNEELUV's Instagram giveaway!  :) :)  :)
This time, the staff didn't ask us whether we wanted to customized our ramen eg. less oily, less salty and soft or hard ramen.  Nevertheless, we felt that the ramen was better than our last visit.  The texture of the ramen from our last visit was rather hard.  The Kurobuta was a very rich bowl of ramen with blend of Tonkotsu and Chicken Collegen broth.  It is only available till end of this month.

Hubby had this Chabuton Tonkotsu Char Siew Ramen so he could enjoy the extra pieces of Char Siew.

Chabuton @ Tampines One

Hubby wanted to go to the SingTel shop to get a new phone and thus, we ended up at Tampines.  We had an early dinner at Chabuton, Tampines One after we took a queue number from the SingTel shop.

Hubby ordered "The Kurobuta" which is available from now till 31 March 2015.
As I was not feeling really hungry yet, I ordered a small bowl of Chabuton Tonkotsu Ramen ($8.30).

The restaurant was quite empty when we were there at around 5pm on a weekend.

I took a small slice of the meat.  It was tender and sweet, very tasty.

My small bowl of ramen came with only a slice of meat.  Haha... The broth was rich and creamy. However, the noodles were rather hard even when I had customized it to soft.  I also requested for less oily and less salty.
Since mine was just the small bowl, I finished everything up!  :)

Bakerzin @ Tampines One

Meet-up with a friend who came back to Singapore for just two days from Beijing.  We decided to have our dinner at Bakerzin which is located within Tampines One.  We chose the open-concept dining area as the other area inside the restaurant was almost occupied and the tables were quite close together.  We prefer to have more "space".  However, I felt awkward as we were seated next to the escalator and I didn't like to face the people who were coming down from the escalator.  As such, I swapped seat with my friend who sat opposite me.  :P

The menu for the mains was rather limited but enough for us to make different choices.  I ordered the Linguini Vongole ($16.90) which came with generous servings of the clams.  It was quite satisfying but I would prefer it to be more spicy to get a bit more kick!
The friend who came back from Beijing, had high-tea at Max Brenner Chocolate bar before meeting us, so she couldn't quite finish the Cabonara that she had ordered.  ($15.50)
The other friend ordered Aglio Olio ($10.90).  She topped up her dish with Prawns at an additional cost of $5 and also Mushroom, Ham & Bacon at $5.00 too.  She was very satisfied with what she had ordered.  The prawns were big and fresh.
All the left-over shells from my clams!
Mango Freeze ($5.90)
Lychee Soda ($6.30)
Coupé Cheesecake Verrine ($12.50).  My friend shared this with me as it was too much to consume 3 scoops of cheesecake on my own!  The cheese flavour was very strong and I felt that it would be just right if it could be served in a single scoop for 1 pax.  Both of us couldn't finish up this dessert.
Coupé Black Forest Verrine  ($12.50)
Bailey’s Irish Cream Soufflé ($11.50)
All prices stated above are before GST and Service Charge.  Ice water was chargeable at $0.30 per glass.

O'Coffee Club @ Tampines One using Groupon Voucher

I bought 2 vouchers from Groupon: $10 for $20 Worth of Gourmet Food and Drinks in 15 Locations Islandwide last year and only to realize that they were going to expire the following day when I checked for their validity dates.

There was a queue when we reached, most of the customers, like us, were holding th Groupon vouchers.  We waited patiently and we got a seat after around 20 mins later.  We were greeted by a friendly female staff and she apologized to us for having to queue so long.  She also pointed to us the dishes which were already not available.  A bit disappointed because all those were the more popular ones that we had wanted to order.

My of order "Skippers' Delight Penne" - Pan-fried fillets topped with aromatic lemon, garlic and rosemary crust on a bed of penne, drenched in a robust lobster sauce.  Hubby also ordered a fish main course.  He didn't have much choice actually.  His order was basil Pesto Sauce with Clam Chowder Linguine.
 Mud-Pie
Spotted a happening hippo at Tampines One Shopping Mall.  Heehee...

Fish & Co @ Tampines One

Happy that I manage to establish an exercise routine with my friend A every weekend.  We would go Amore for classes either on Saturday or Sunday :)

Last weekend, after our 2-hour classes, we had our lunch at Fish & Co at Tampines One.  Hubby joined us for lunch too.
This is page 2 of the different types of fish and chips on the menu, so many varieties.  Didn't know that they also serve Japanese Fish & Chips eg.  Dip the fried fish in soba sauce?  Singapore Fish & Chips goes with chili crab paste... Errr.. don't think I would want to try this.
Soup of the Day - Fish Chowder
I ordered Danish Fish & Chips.  I like it because it was cripsy and cheesy!  A and hubby both ordered their signature New York Fish & Chips.

Hearty lunch at Thai Express after workout at Amore (Tampines One)

Met up with an ex-colleague to go workout at Amore.  We attended pilates and followed by bellyblitz together with another 2 friends.  Our instructor for bellyblitz was actually a male!  We were quite shocked as he also wore the hipscarf used for bellydancing.  He was actually quite good as he was very patient and would slow down the steps so that we could all catch up with his dance routines.  It was great to catch-up with my friend and we got so much things to talk about.  We had a long lunch (almost 3 over hours) at Thai Express.

Complimentary starter
 Beef salad for sharing ($8.90)
I ordered the shrimp fried rice.  ($9.90)
My favourite mango sticky (glutinous) rice!  Served warm.  ($6.50)

Didn't take photos of what my colleagues ate.  All of us were famished after the 2 hours session of workout.

Any blog readers here also signed up with Amore package?  Which are the classes that you all like to attend?

A Sunday Breakfast at O'Coffee Club, Tampines One

Our friend asked us out for breakfast at O'Coffee Club on Sunday morning.
English Breakfast Tea for me...

I ordered Picnic Pancakes Set. ($10.20)
Hubby ordered the American Breakfast Set. ($10.50)  The sunny side-up was not quite nicely done though.
Our friend came only after we had almost finished our breakfast.  After that, he brought us to his new place which is currently under renovation at Pasir Ris.

Another Thai Meal - Thai Express

Lunch with my colleague after Friday's work.  Our intention was to go Tampines One for lunch before going to Amore Fitness to attend a class.  However, we made a boo-boo... Haha... In the end, we didn't attend the class because we didn't bring our track shoes.

We requested for a table at the 2nd storey.

Glass noodles and prawns salad
Both of us ordered the $8.90 lunch set meal.

Luo Chun Ge 箩春阁 @ Tampines One

After our lunch at Jin Long, we went to Tampines One with cousin Krystal and her mum.  Krystal is normally quite fussy about food but she recommended us these pan-fried Shanghainese buns 生煎包 at Tampines One, located right at the end of the escalator from first level (Outside Tampines MRT) to the basement.  If you buy 3 in a pack, it will cost $2.70 and if you buy in 5 in a pack, it cost $3.90.  I bought 5 to share amongst 4 of us.  These are like the bigger version of "Xiao Long Bao" with pork fillings inside.  They were really very tasty.  I think next time I can have 3 buns for myself.  :P  However, my aunt told us that the last time she ate these, there was a lot of juice inside the buns as well.

My cousin, Krystal
I found out from their website, the correct way to enjoy these pan-fried buns is very similar to that of "Xiao Long Bao".

Aoba Hokkaido Ramen and Cafe Cartel "Happy Hours"

We had dinner at Manpuku at Tampines One before catching movie "Thor" later at night.  I ordered Shoyu Ramen from Aoba.  ($6.80)

This time round, we had too much time to spare.  Almost after all the shops were closed, we went to Cafe Cartel for desserts.  After 9pm, their coffee, desserts, snacks are all half price!  We ordered the brownies with ice-cream and it cost only about $4.50 after discount.
We catched the 11.25pm show at Shaw, Century Square.
Synopsis:  Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, "Thor," which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard.
