Outram Park Ya Hua Rou Gu Cha 欧南园亚华肉骨茶 @ Keppel Road

What is your first meal for the year 2013?  Ours was a Bak Kut Teh meal at Outram Park Ya Hua Rou Gu Cha.  As we drove into the carpark around noon on New Year Day, it seemed that most of the shops and even the coffeshops next to it were all closed.  Surprisingly, after we had parked our car and walked up the stairs, we could see that Ya Hua Rou Gu Cha coffeeshop was bustling with lots of people!  Service was rather slow on that day as the place was overly-crowded.
The you tiao (fried dough sticks) had improved in terms of the crunchiness since the last time we were here.  If I remember correctly, their you tiao used to be too soft without the crunch.
 Salted Vegetables
Braised intestines - One of my favourite dishes that I would order everytime I am here.
My bowl of Bak Kut Teh (Lean Meat).  The bowl was rather small but you can ask for free refill of the soup.  I felt that the soup was peppery hot but quite salty.  However, it was good that we didn't feel thirsty after gulping 2 bowls of soup.

Changi Airport Terminal 3 Kopitiam

Parents came to fetch me out for dinner on Saturday. They decided to go to the airport. We went to T3 Kopitiam and the place was pretty crowded but we still manage to get a table quite fast. I ordered Bak Kut Teh and the soup was peppery type which I like. It was even more "shiok" to have this on a rainy day.
Mum ordered a big bun with quite generous filling inside.
After dinner, we did a bit of shopping and there was a sales corner.  I bought myself a nice pair of Crocs which I will wear them very often especially these few days when the weather is rainy :)
Carpark at the airport is cheaper than what I had thought.  For weekend, from 6 to 9pm (3 hours), it is $2.50.  So have to make sure you come after 6pm! However, don't come too late for dinner otherwise you will have to join the snaking queue at most of the restaurants and eateries.

Outram Park Ya Hua Bak Kut Teh

This is our favourite Bak Kut Teh place so far. The other "side dishes" that we like to order everytime we visit the place are the You Tiao (to dip into the soup) and also, the intestines. I love the clear, peppery soup. Their service is also good. They will refill your bowl of soup very frequently. I also prefer the fatter meat as compared to the lean meat :)
