Lunch at Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen/ Movie "Source Code" @ Century Square

We gobbled up our lunch at Popeyes before rushing to catch the movie "Source Code".
The little biscuit was being wrapped up like a burger when it was served to us.
Fried Shrimps
"Wendy's" has square-shaped bun burgers.  Here at Popeyes, the burgers are "Diamond-shaped".  The burger was quite tasty with a big chunk of chicken fillet sandwiched between the diamond-shaped buns.

"Source Code"
Synopsis: When decorated soldier Captain Colter Stevens (Jake Gyllenhaal) wakes up in the body of an unknown man, he discovers he's part of a mission to find the bomber of a Chicago commuter train. In an assignment unlike any he's ever known, he learns he's part of a government experiment called the "Source Code," a program that enables him to cross over into another man's identity in the last 8 minutes of his life. With a second, much larger target threatening to kill millions in downtown Chicago, Colter re-lives the incident over and over again, gathering clues each time, until he can solve the mystery of who is behind the bombs and prevent the next attack. Filled with mind-boggling twists and heart-pounding suspense, Source Code is a smart action-thriller directed by Duncan Jones (Moon) also starring Michelle Monaghan (Eagle Eye, Due Date), Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air, The Departed), and Jeffrey Wright (Quantum of Solace, Syriana).

At first, I thought this is just some low budget film with only a few main characters and the almost same scenes will repeat itself again and again.  However, there are some fine details that you need to catch in order to link everything together.  It is a film that will set you to think.  However, towards the end, some people have different interpretations.  What is your interpretation?  Care to share here?

After the movie, we went to the basement to get some dessert from "Dessert Story".  However, their desserts were a disappointment.  I ordered beancurd barley and it came in a very small bowl with no trace of beancurd and a bit of barley.  It tasted so bland and this tiny bowl with no substance cost $3.50!

Hubby's ordered yam paste with ginko nut and pumpkin.  Presentation wise it looked much better but tastewise, it was just average.

I will not have my dessert here again.  :(

Freshness Burger @ Century Square

You will know that somehow the restaurant is somehow related to Japan when you see these plastic miniature of food samples.

I ordered the "SPAM burger".  Hubby was puzzled and asked me what a "spam" is, and I proudly told him it is just luncheon meat.  Actually, I got to know what a "spam" is from other food blogs too.  Haha..

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen @ Century Square

Our first visit to Popeyes at Century Square when it just opened was not a pleasant one. Both hubby and I found the meat far too dry and tough, and at that time, we wondered why there were so many positive feedbacks about Popeyes. We also have friends who would travel to the airport just to have "Popeyes" fried chicken.

Yesterday, we booked a show at Shaw (Century Square)at 7.05pm. We reached the place only at around 6.45pm. Thus, we decided to try out Popeyes again as we were rushing for time. This time, we were more satisfied with the chicken. Yes, it was definitely less oily than KFC and it was also quite crispy. Glad that the quality of the chicken has improved since it first opened.

After rushing through our meal at Popeyes, we managed to catch the movie "Dectective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame" on time.  It was really quite a good show.  Do catch it if you have not done so.  The 2-hr movie is very fast paced and there are a few twists towards the end.
The character that I like most in this movie is Jing'er (Li Bing Bing), think Li Bing Bing really have the X-factor to bring out the character in this role.
