Rabbit Fair & Multiply Gathering at Kuishin-bo (Suntec City)

About 4 years ago, while I was preparing for my wedding, I was active in some wedding forums like singaporebrides.com.sg.  Through these forums, some of the then-bride-to-be liked to share their wedding photos through Multiply site (At that time, there is no facebook yet!).  For this reason, I registered with Multiply to make sharing of wedding photos and thoughts more accessible.  After wedding, I continue to post travel photos on my Multiply site and through this site, I make friends with some online buddies! :)

I met up with my Multiply online buddies at Kuishin-bo (Suntec City) last Wednesday.
There was a Rabbit Fair at Suntec Tower 1

So adorable!!

As I was early, I went to Carrefour to shop around and I was surprised that Carrefour is selling Crocodile Meat!!!
Reaching Kuishin-bo!!

Sam's first serving.... Looks good right?
I decided to start with some sashimi and tempura first.

Sam trying to cut the crab leg with the scissors... Look at Vivian!  Haha...
I had the Chicken Kaminabe... I am not using vulgar here ok?
and of course the highlight at Kushinbo - The seafood:  King Alaskan Crab Legs, Prawns, scallops
The meat was very fresh and sweet.
Our dessert

They served "Twinning Tea".  I had a cup of tea after all the food to help me digest better :P

Our X'mas Eve

We woke up very early on X'mas Eve as it was my hubby's company "Family Day".  The company booked the whole of "Old Town White Coffee" at Suntec for the morning function.

After breakfast, we proceed to the theatre to watch the movie "Gulliver's Travels".
We didn't watch it in 3D  but anyway, this is a family movie.  The kids will enjoy it more...
We had a simple lunch at Millenia Walk after the movie and we continued with our shopping.  I got a new Titus watch from hubby as a X'mas pressie.... Hiaz.. I lost my other Titus watch at home (I think..), not sure how this could have happened :(  We went Carrefour to buy the ingredients for dinner.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We bought 2 pieces of Cod fish.  Each piece cost around $10.  I decided to follow Wokkingmum's recipe of Baked Cod Fish with Garlic Mayonnaise as it is easy to follow.
Mixing the garlic and the mayo together
Spread garlic mayo over the cod before baking them in the oven.  Heat for about 20 minutes.
The Result:  Success!  (At least for my standard)

Pizza Hut ~ Pasta Perfetto!

24 Aug 2010 (Tue):  This was the first time I attended a food tasting session. Prior to this, I had received a few invites but got to give them a miss due to work schedule.  As I am staying and working in the far East of Singapore, it was quite difficult for me to go to town during weekdays.  However, last Tuesday, as I got to attend a meeting at town area till 5 plus, I accepted the invite as I had no problem reaching Suntec on time at 6.30pm for the session.

Most of the invited bloggers were already there when I reached Pizza Hut.  Actually, I was not very sure what to expect from this session and I just went there with an open mind, to gain some experience :)

The staff took our order for our drinks first before the food was being served.  The highlights of the evening were the 2 types of parchment pasta.  Was really priviledged to be one of the first to savor Pizza Hut’s upcoming Parchment Pasta.  The "secret" ingredient is the Paper...  which is to allow the pasta to absorb the flavour of the ingredients and of course, the very flavoursome sauce.  This reminds me of the way how baked herbal chicken, those wrapped in paper is also prepared using the same concept.  However, presentation wise, pizza hut is a bit more creative.  What is the purpose of this clothes peg imprinted with "Pizza Hut - Pasta Perfetto" on it?

Ladies and Gentlemen.... Presenting Pizza Hut's Char-grilled Chicken Parchment Pasta ($11.90)
Hoho... I am going to unwrap the "present"!  Hope it will be a pleasant surprise!!  :D
Hot! Open with care!
We were served with a full portion of the pasta.  I was really surprised as I thought we would be given a small portion of the different types of pasta to sample.  The presentation of the dish was good, nice colours of the different ingredients (chicken, turkey bacon, button mushrooms, red capsicum) all blended in together and it certainly looked very appetizing.
This pasta was really very cheesy and creamy.  Very strong flavour.
Next, we were being served...
the Spicy Seafood Parchment Pasta ($12.90)
We were warned beforehand that this one was gonna to be spicy.  Chili padis were added to the tomato sauce and upon the first bite, I could felt my tongue numbed.  Quite spicy in my opinion but some of them felt it was still not spicy enough.  The linguine was served with 3 mussels, 3 prawns and a few squid rings.  The portion was really generous and I felt guilty that I couldn't finish up the whole dish.  They could have just served us half the portion for each type of pasta.  :D
This pasta was not presented like this, the ingredients were sort of hidden inside the pasta and I had arranged them nicely on top of the linguini so that I could take a nicer photo.  It was quite an messy affair to unwrap this one with the sauce "splattered" on the paper.  Although a bit messy in presentation, I prefer this pasta over the first one.  Shiok!
Before we started our main course of the 2 types of pasta, we were generously fed with salads and starters
Seafood Tofu Salad (S$6.90)
Chicken Riblets
Note:  Actual serving is 4 pieces ($5.80)
One of us thought these were pork ribs... Haha.. Pizza Hut is halal-certified, no pork here definitely.
Big delicious chunk of Chicken Meat... Yummy!
All-time-favourite:  Hut's Platter
After a super duper heavy meal, we were served with desserts - A Tale of 2 Temptations
Savoury-sweet brownie cheesecake paired with sinfully rich banana choco mousse cake drizzled with chocolate sauce.
Most of us at the table preferred the banana choco mousse cake. However, it was a real pity that we were all too full to enjoy the richness of the cakes.

Game for one more pasta?
Just kidding!  No pasta inside but these.... taken from the pizza hut goodie bag given to each of us :)
Thanks Nuffnang and Pizza Hut for this great food tasting session!

Indonesian Grill @ Suntec foodcourt

Whenever we are at Suntec foodcourt, it seems that we never fail to have our meal at this stall "Indonesian Grill".
We seem to love this so much that we have not patronize other stalls at Suntec foodcourt. We are always here for the grilled chicken. Yummy!

Other than pies, they specialize in crab beehoon too!

1 May 2008 (Labour Day)

After watching movie "Iron Man" at EW Suntec, Francis and I decided to settle somewhere in Suntec for dinner. We walked around the Fountain of Wealth but couldn't decide which restaurants we should go to. Since we were not too hungry, I suggested going to the 1st level (where you can find donut factory, ShiLin Mee sua) to snack around.
We chanced upon "Don", saw some articles with its good reviews and even recommendation from "Makansutra" at their entrance so we decided to give it a try.

We were welcomed by the very friendly staffs and she said their black pepper chicken pies were very good, got big chunks of chicken. I ordered the shephard pie ($5.30) and Francis ordered the black pepper chicken pie. Actually the filling for both pies are the same, the only difference is that mine doesn't have the fluffy crust (Whoo... simply loved it, see photo) and is replaced by potato crust. The fillings of the pie is very generous - Big chunks of chicken, mushrooms, mixed vegetables, peppercorn and hard-boiled egg. I felt that Francis' pie tasted much better than my shephard pie although I am a very "potato person" :P I simply loved the strong peppery taste of the chicken.Their pies were all freshly baked from the oven.

While we were dining in, a couple walked in and wanted to order a big pie. The staff explained to them very politely and nicely that they had to wait for 1 hour for them to bake a new pie as they had sold out all the baked pies. The couple gladly agreed to wait.Franics loved the pie and he bought a big pie (around $18) to take away, for our family to try. Before we left Suntec, I didn't forget to buy half a dozen of donuts from Donut Factory for supper cos I am those type of person who will always go hungry at night easily :P
