[Media Invite] Baker's Well Mooncakes 2017

[18 Aug 2017.Fri]  Baker's Well 2017 Mooncake Private Launch

Just when a friend of mine was sharing with me about this nice bakery at East Coast Road - Baker's Well that I had yet patronize before, I received an invitation to Baker's Well 2017 Mooncake Private Launch Event at Suntec City Convention Centre.

The different flavoured snow-skin mooncakes that Baker's Well offered are:
Yuzu Truffle
Earl Grey Lavender Truffle (New Flavor)
Champagne Truffle
Salted Black Sesame Truffle
Rum & Raisin Truffle
Matcha Truffle

Baker's Well's mooncakes are artisanal handmade from scratch.  I heard from them that even the blue colouring for the rum and raisin truffle mooncake are obtained from the blue pea flowers juices extracted directly from the owner's garden.

This year, their packaging is kept simple but still rather eye-catching.  When you place the 4 small boxes together, you can form two full moons which is quite an apt design for the mid-autumn festival.
Baker's Well is well know for their traditional handmade baked-skin mooncakes such as Pure White Lotus with Double Yolk and Roasted Melon Seeds and Traditional Mixed Nuts.  All their products are made with less sugar and they also have Sugar-Free Pure White Lotus with Roasted Melon Seeds for the more health-conscious customers.

The 6th flavour of their snow-skin collection is the Earl Grey Lavender snow-skin mooncakes.  Wrapped in a lovely shade of pastel purple, the perfect blend of premium Earl Grey Tea with Lavender will definitely please all tea-lovers.

Their all-time best selling snow-skin mooncakes are these pink Champagne Truffle.  The taste of the champagne is rather strong and definitely a must-buy for all liquor enthusiasts.

Similarly, their Snow-Skin Rum and Raisin Truffle mooncakes (purple) also has a very strong alcoholic taste.  Generally, I find that Baker's Well snowskin mooncakes, although small in size but very strong in their respective unique flavour.
These Snow-Skin Yuzu Truffle mooncakes have a very refreshing citrus taste.
Traditional Handmade Baked-Skin Mooncakes.

I love their Mixed Nuts baked mooncakes.  Every bite contains a mouthful rich of different types of nut, very satisfying.

Where to try Baker's Well mooncakes?  You may head to their shop at East Coast Road or visit any of the Mid-Autumn roadshows.  Takashimaya already started the mooncake fair last weekend!

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!! - Mooncakes from Park Palace (Park Hotel Group) 2013

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival to everyone in advance!!!   Oh well, maybe today I shall wish everyone Happy Chinese Valentines' Day instead but let me show you some sweet treats (Mooncakes!!) from Park Palace from the Park Hotel Group.  It is never too early to eat these great yummilicious mooncakes right?  :P
Packaging for Park Palace's Mooncakes - Let's uncover the treasures in the gold pearlescent mooncake boxes with lovely, red peonies and butterflies.
For the baked selections, they have the classic baked mooncakes with white lotus seed paste.  If you want to indulge in a healthier option, you may want to try the White Lotus Seed Paste with Macadamia Nuts which come in reduced sugar content.  New to the selection is the Golden Jade with Duo Nuts (Vegetarian), which is a medley of lotus paste infused with pandan and mixed with melon and pine seeds.
Look at the kaleidoscope of colourful mini snowskin mooncakes!  It was simply a treat to the eyes!  I was so excited when I saw this box of mooncakes and couldn't wait to sink my teeth into them!  I posted a photo collage of the mooncakes on my instagram last night and it invited quite a bit of curiosity as well, especially the pink ones.

Black Sesame & White Lotus Paste with Mochi in Snowskin  (New)
On top of the mysterious black looking mooncakes are sprinkles of gold dust.  The fillings are white lotus paste with chewy mochi.

Sakura Truffle with White Lotus Paste in Snowskin (New)
Lychee & Lychee in Snowskin (Signature, back by Popular Demand)
Baileys Truffles & Mint in Snowskin (Back by Popular Demand)
I had just tried the pretty pink mooncakes and I love the sweet fragrance of their premium luscious white lotus paste used.  The texture of the mooncakes were soft and the white chocolate truffle added to a slight crunch to the bite.  The sweetness of the mooncakes was just right for me.

Day Trip to Johor Bahru

We were invited to our friend's baby full month at La Casa (Woodlands).  After a short stay at his place, we decided to drive over to JB again.  Hubby wanted to go Tebrau City to polish his car.  We reached our destination at around 3pm and the traffic was rather smooth.

We saw this restaurant right at the end of the escalator on the 4th level and decided to go in to get some norishing soup.  This place seemed quite popular as it gathered more crowd as compared to the other restaurants.

They also have a shopspace next to the restaurant selling all those Chinese health products.
We both ordered a small pot of chicken soup each.

After our meal, we bought 3 packets of the ingredients used to make soup, including one packet for Bak Kut
Teh from their shop
After some shopping, we also stayed on at Tebrau City for our dinner as our car was not ready yet.  I guess their business was too good.  It took more than 3 hours to polish the car.  We had our dinner at this "Food and Tea" Hong Kong Cafe.  As I was not really hungry yet, I actually ordered Nissin Noodle!  Something that I would not order in S'pore!
Hubby ordered Seafood Baked Rice.

We bought 2 boxes of mooncakes at the mooncake fair just outside Jusco at the basement.  We bought this brand of mooncakes last year too.
4 different flavours! =)
