Singapore Biennale 2011 (Part II) - Old Kallang Airport

We started by exploring the East Block.
Office Orchitect
Installation is based on the work of a fictional Singapore architect KS Wong.  Many impossible architecture, beyong your imagination can be found here.

All real hair in this room!  Eeeek!!
Frequency and Volume
Human antennae - our body tunes to the frequencies of local radia station.
Through a Glass Darkly
Words in the four official languages of Singapore flow and swirl across the gallery walls and floor.

Next, we walked over to the Terminal Building....

We couldn't go further beyong this point.

A piece of contemporary art here!  A German barn, replete with bales of hay in a disused aviation hangar.  The Barn is a creation of Berlin-based power duo Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset.  The duo creates works that often seek to displace, relocate or remove buildings or objects out of their original contexts, and to make us see the familar anew.

The installation also features four young men dressed in traditional lederhosen, or leather pants, relaxing in the hay with books and diary in hand.  When we were there, one of the young men was "working hard" at the barn, while the other 3 were inside the dark barn, sitting down and chatting away.  I felt so strange and hesitant to enter the barn at first.

Something abstract.....
