Little Penang Cafe @ KLCC

Our last night at KL was spent at the KLCC. This time round, we tried out "Little Penang Cafe".  I ordered their signature Char Kuay Teow.

The queue at Nando's (Bugis, Singapore) is always quite long but here there is no queue!  Dined here with my colleagues before our students' performance at the Mall.

I ordered the Hot Peri-Peri Quarter Chicken Set.  The chicken was really very tender.  Nice!

First Day at Shah Alam

This was not my own holiday trip but a trip with lots of responsibilities because I had brought about 55 band  students for a 5D4N Shah Alam/ Putrajaya and KL Trip.  We stayed at Grand BlueWave Hotel for all the 4 nights.

We got a Suite Room :)  This was a pleasant surprise!!  :D

We had buffet dinner at the hotel. I came with a rather low expectation but in the end, I was surprised at the range of buffet spread that they had. In fact, I was rather impressed with the quality of food served although there is no seafood like mussels, prawns or crabs that you would find in most international buffet. The kids loved the lasagne and the dessert spread.

My colleague had a plate of Mee Bandung but she had forgotten to boil the noodles before putting in the gravy.

My first serving of my dinner.  I also took a few slices of salmon.  They were quite nicely done. 

They had ice-cream too!  I chose my favourite yam and chocolate ice-cream.

Snacks of the Week

Voyage de la Vie @ Resorts World Sentosa

Hubby got a pair of complimentary tickets for Voyage de la Vie from his band mate and thus, we got to watch the show yesterday for free!  We were seated at the Stall, the ticket price for the Stall seat is priced at $88 each for the supposedly 90 minutes show.  The show started at 5pm and ended promptly at 6pm.  We were quite surprised that it ended so fast. 

I loved all the acrobat acts especially the dangerous swinging rope act by Liina Aunola and I didn't really care much about the plot.  This is not really a musical, the circus/ acrobat performances should be the highlight.  In fact, I also felt that all the singing and "acting" by Johnathan Leong was a bit redundant.  Most of the time, he was just an observer, trying to look curious and atonished in every scene as he doen't possess any acrobat skills.. ya.. so he just sing...

I was still puzzled why the show was only 1 hour and when I reached home, I did a search on the Internet.  From their facebook page, I got to know that one of the main casts, "The Diva" was injured and so she is still unable to perform.  The Magician's straitjacket act also not in.  No "Crystal Cat" too.  The game master for our show was Kevin Carpenter and not the very popular and cute Alexey Goloborodko.  Kevin is also very flexible although Alexey is more famous.  Thus, our show that we watched was somehow incomplete.  Luckily, our tickets were complimentary.  I will feel quite sad to pay the same price ticket for an incomplete show.    More information on the casting can be found here at Resorts World Blog

No photography and videography is allowed during the show.  A lady seated in front of me still took photos of the show with flash and she was told to delete her photos.  :P

We decided to have a simple dinner at Ruyi resturant as hubby needed to rush off to work after this.  This was the second time we dined at Ruyi, the first time we had "Ruyi" is at the airport before we departed for Melbourne last December.

This is Chinese Fast Food.  Many of the cooking processes are done automated.  However, I don't find their signature Ruyi Fried Rice very nice.  It was a bit dry and salty.  $6.20 for this bowl of fried rice is really a tad expensive.  Their soup, which come together in the set, was even more salty.

Although the show was complimentary, we payed a parking fee of $23 for about 2 and a half hour of parking.  Next time, will not park at resort world. :(
