Chanced upon Singapore's Largest Balloon Landscape - The Dinosaur Balloon Extravaganza at Marina Square today as I followed hubby to the IT show at Suntec.
Lime-light of the exhibit - The gigantic T-rex.
This looks like a trying to "act cute" dinosaur. I was quite tempted to pose with it but dropped the idea as there were too many kids and also adults waiting at the queue.
The friendly-looking dinosaurs and the strange flowers with mouths.
A flying dinosaur which has a smiling face.
Spot the ladybug on the leaf!
They come in different sizes.
This dinosaur head looks like Kerropi.
Happy kid in the bed of balloon flowers.
Love the white and grey design balloons.
There is another big one here and walk into it, you will see....
another dinosaur inside! I submitted this photo for their instagram contest. Thought it looks quite cool!
There were also balloon sculptors at the exhibits who made interesting mini balloon sculptures for kids on the spot. But nothing comes free, the balloons were sold at around $5 to $10 each.
As you go around trigger happy the balloons sculpture with your smartphone, don't forget to instagram your favourite ones and hashtag #MarinaSquareBalloons! I had submitted mine (instagram username: @y_lyn) and good luck to you too! :) By the way, if you haven't visited the balloon sculptures today, tomorrow (Sunday, 22 Mar 2015) is the last day!!!

I am rather lucky with instagram contest recently. Just before the Chinese New Year, hubby and I went to our favourite nearest ramen joint - Ramen Champion at Changi Airport Terminal 3. As usual, we would take a photo of our delicious-looking bowl of ramen and post it on instagram. I hashtag my photo of the ramen I ordered from Tonkatsu Ikkyu with #ramenchampioncny as there is a contest from Ramen Champion. Winners of the contest would receive CNY ang pows! I was happy to be one of the three winners for this contest! The ang pows were mailed to me and the amount of the vouchers also came as a surprise for me (4 x $20 Ramen Champion vouchers).
Both of us ordered the God Ramen from Buta God! To maximize the 2 x $20 vouchers, we ordered another side dish.
More and more restaurants using this technology and I can even find this in my neighbourhood foodcourt in one of the western food stalls.
The side dish was very disappointing. The dish looked completely different from the display photo. The tamago was so thinly sliced and this cost $6.80. Super not worth the money in my opinion.
Our God Ramen! Haha... It was a rather generous bowl of ramen with pork belly slices and a poached egg. Broth was thick and rich. This ramen didn't disappoint.
For this meal, we used 2 vouchers and topped up only $1.50. We still have 2 more vouchers and we will visit Ramen Champion again next month!
Thank you @ramenchampion_sg for the CNY ang pows! See you soon! :):):)

This was my second visit to Chabuton with hubby. I didn't try "The Kurobuta" during my previous visit and was happy to win a voucher for a free bowl of "The Kurobuta" from @VIVIENNEELUV's Instagram giveaway! :) :) :)
This time, the staff didn't ask us whether we wanted to customized our ramen eg. less oily, less salty and soft or hard ramen. Nevertheless, we felt that the ramen was better than our last visit. The texture of the ramen from our last visit was rather hard. The Kurobuta was a very rich bowl of ramen with blend of Tonkotsu and Chicken Collegen broth. It is only available till end of this month.
Hubby had this Chabuton Tonkotsu Char Siew Ramen so he could enjoy the extra pieces of Char Siew.

I took part in Miss Tam Chiak's Quayside Isle instagram giveaway last year end. To take part, simply take a photo at Quayside Isle, with hashtag #quaysideisleuob. As I had visited Quayside Isle before to celebrate my hubby's birthday at Sabio by the Sea, I added in the hashtag #quaysideisleuob to my instagram photo of the paella that we had at Sabio and I won $200 vouchers with that! :)
I went to City Develpments Limited (CDL) at City House, Robinson Road to redeem my vouchers during January this year and I got 20 x $10 Quayside Isle vouchers. As the expiry date is coming near, to be used by the end of March, I decided to give my parents and hubby a good treat with the vouchers.
Hubby and I decided to go back to Sabio by the Sea again but luckily, I checked with the staff first regarding the usage of the vouchers before getting seated in the restaurant. The restaurant staff told us that they were not one of the participating outlets for the use of these vouchers. Hubby then called up the number stated on the vouchers to ask which were the participating outlets. In the end, I decided on Museo. The restaurant is located at the 2nd level and we just need to take the lift from the first level to reach the restaurant directly.
There is a table located just in front of the lift, at the entrance of the restaurant next to the menu stand. Don't think anyone will choose these seats. Interesting designs of plates.
Menu with no photos.
We chose our seats next to the bar counter and our window seats also allowed us to have a good view outside, overlooking the yachts. However, the only grumble we had throughout the dining experience was there was no air-condition in the restaurant apparently. We all felt a bit hot and uncomfortable and I also saw another patron on the other table kept fanning herself with a piece of paper.
Hubby ordered Pomelo Tea.
I had Roasted Hazelnut Latte (Cold)
We ordered a set of Mezzanine Signatures ($42) consisting of Smoked Roast Pork Belly (Joys of Life), Soft Shell Chilli Crabs (Three Musicians), Deep-fried Prawns flavoured with Lavender (Picasso's Blues) and Chicken Satays (A Sunday afternoon on the Island) to share. The food was served in delicate glass jars.
We also ordered another three mains.
Delicate Cod Fillet with Baked Scallops in its shell with Onion Relish and
Truffle Mushroom Risotto ($35)
Truffle Mushroom Risotto and Hokkaido Sea Scallops ($35)
Two-Way Lobster (Half)
Lobster "Thermidor" and Seafood Otah Stuffing in Lobster Shell served with Barley Risotto ($38)
Total bill for four was $221 and thus, we only needed to top up another $21 after using the vouchers.
We love the food at Museo and hope to re-visit the place soon maybe for their high-tea. :)
